“Navigation to the webpage was canceled” Error in .CHM File

Just downloaded a PowerShell Help file (.chm) from Microsoft site. When I open the CHM file, It just displayed an error message “Navigation to the webpage was canceled”

Whatz wrong? Well, Since the file was downloaded from the internet, by default it was blocked.

Solution: Go to the properties of the file (Right click on the file, and choose Properties) and then click on Unblock button. That’s it.

    • Try copy-pasting the CHM file from Network drive to Local folder. If you still facing the issue, Try making the registry entry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftHTMLHelp1.xItssRestrictions]
“MaxAllowedZone”=dword:00000001 . Also try registering HTML Help control: regsvr32 hhctrl.ocx
