SharePoint Online: Fix Search Results Count Inconsistent Issue

Problem: Search results count is inconsistent in SharePoint Online!

Solution:

The SharePoint Search center search results page displays the number of items in the results at the bottom of the page. If you navigate through paging, The number of search results displayed on each page is inconsistent. Although many search engines, including Google, do the same, Users prefer a consistent number of results in the paging area on all pages. So, to fix this problem:

1. Edit the search results page >> Edit search results web part >> In the Properties panel, click on “Change Query” button
2. In the “Build your Query” popup window, click on the “Settings” tab and choose “Don’t Remove duplicates”. Save and publish the page.

Now you can verify the search results count accuracy across pages!
