How to Backup Local Folders Like My Documents, Desktop to OneDrive?

Did you know that you can back up your documents, desktop, and picture folders to OneDrive? It’s a great way to ensure that your data is safe in case of an accident or hard drive failure. Plus, if you ever lose your computer or stolen, you’ll still have access to all your files. Assuming you have a OneDrive account as part of a Microsoft 365 account and the OneDrive client installed on your local PC, and it’s running (If not, start it from %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe), Here are the steps to back up the important folders My Documents, Desktop and Pictures folder to OneDrive.

  1. Open the OneDrive client from the system tray (bottom-right area of the taskbar) >> Click on “Settings” >> On the “Backup” tab, click on “Manage backup”.backup local folder to OneDrive
